Black ZZ

Black ZZ  is a beautiful and rare houseplant known for its unique foliage of bright lime green to a deep black-purple as it matures.  The ZZ is also known for improving indoor air quality by purifying the air. Its low maintenance making it an excellent choice for your home or office.

Overview:

Size:       1 to 3 feet tall and wide.

Light:     Can adapt to spaces without natural light or in low light spaces.

Soil:       Well-draining soil that is slightly acidic, a combination of perlite, peat, and sand or vermiculite is an ideal mix for your ZZ. (View our Plant Essentials)

Water:   Your ZZ can go weeks without watering.  Do not overwater for the leaves can yellow and it is susceptible to root rot.   Water when the soil is completely dry.

           Humidity:  Average household humidity somewhere between 40% to 60%.

Fertilizer:  Your ZZ is not a heavy feeder so a balance of slow-release fertilizer with NPK, ratio of around 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 is ideal. Use sparingly about once every 3 to 6 months during the growing season (spring and summer).

Toxicity:    Toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
